Those who have been screaming about things like getting pressure on the quarterback, and throwing deep to the Seahawks 6-foot-4, 235-pound receiver who runs a sub 4.4 40-yard dash saw some things they liked in the first half against the Dolphins.

The Seahawks, using a second string running back (Zach Charbonnet) and a third string right tackle (Stone Forsythe) Sunday and missing defensive linemen Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy for much of the first half, jumped out to a 17-3 lead. Williams and Murphy will not return today.

Still, Seattle found plenty of other ways to win the first half.

DK Metcalf caught a 71-yard TD pass. The Seahawks defense sacked Dolphins QB Skylar Thompson four times, including two from Derick Hall, and one each from Boye Mafe and Dre’Mont Jones. Hall also hit De’Von Achane so hard hit helmet popped off and tumbled out of bounds.

Both teams struggled on third down. Miami finished the half 0-for-6, while Seattle went 1-for-6. The teams combined for 13 first-half penalties.

So, do the Dolphins stink? Are the Seahawks good? Time will tell, including the 30 minutes coming in the second half.
